VIA Rail Canada provides train service across the country and our experience has always left us wanting to ride again. As a family we booked our trip in business class to enjoy early boarding and other small amenities that help to made the trip more enjoyable.
On the wonderful train ride from Montreal to Toronto, Jack enjoyed the appetizer of California and smoked salmon sushi rolls served with pickled ginger, unusual for a meat and potatoes guy. I ordered the Raviolis au Fromage et Aux Epinards: Cheese and Spinach Ravioli. Jackson enjoyed the Filet de Porc Grille Farci aux Fruits: Fruit-stuffed grilled Pork Tenderloin. For dessert, the Millefeuille a la Framboise: Raspberry Mille Feuille was a perfect ending to such an enjoyable meal aboard our last leg of the journey from Quebec City to Toronto.
On a quest to find Canada’s creamy confection, the Nanaimo Bar, instead we found a a wonderful little French café and patisserie, Le Neuf on Clarence Square just down from our hotel.
The Le Neuf Cafe was more than we expected and we walked away with a lagniappe.
